It is really worth paying homage to the monastery “Lady of Angels” of Gonia, one kilometre away, where you can admire the most beautiful icons, representative of the cretan school of iconography and attend a liturgy to hear authentic byzantine music. There is also the orthodox academy and housed in its courtyard is the botanical museum.
It is really worth making the effort to climb the nearby hill to see the monument dedicated to the reserve officers, who died in WWII. From there you can admire the view of boundless blue of the sky and the sea and experience the colourful splendour of sunset.
